New sketch

Ok guys and gals, haven't been updating my blog with any new works lately. I have not abandoned this blog yet. Lately I found some time to do new sketch series that I will call, series of faces.

I am planning of doing one every day or so (if my busy scheduled would allow it). I want to thanks my better half for whopping my ass and get this up and going again. Love you babe!

this version still have all symmetrical features to the face. I will post one more snapshot with the asymmetrical details later.

realistic donald duck?






I am doing a challenge at 3dtotal.com on speed modeling a realistic cartoon character.

i choose donald because to me its really challenging to take a humanoid base mesh into something else as extreme as an angry realistic sailor duck.

by the way there is a time limit on the turnaround, which is 4 hours. so far i am putting 2 hours worth of sculpting in this bust.

*edit- So i consider this finished as is, i'm pretty sure if i don't decide to stop it here, there still plenty of room for improvement. but then its stuck at 4 millions polys in mudbox and i don;t like the way zbrush work flow, so i stop it here, consider it finished.

First Post for 2008

One creature I have been working on, its work in progress kind of thing. base mesh is done in maya and hi-res sculpting is currently in Mudbox. Creature is inspired by a concept by Ryan at www.boyrobot.com
